CHROME IV HTML5 with Paypal "Type 2" Forms
Full & Mobile Setup - Getting Started
Some files used on the main website will also be linked to from the mobile site inside the "mobile" folder. See notes *Full & Mobile below. To setup the matching mobile site see the help-mobi.html in the "mobile" folder. See also support details.
Setting up your website template:

Step 1:
EDIT HEADER: | More Details
Edit the "logo.png" in the picts folder with your logo image. The header background HEX color can be found in the ".css" theme you are using in the "colors" folder. The default font used is 30 point bold "AvantGarde Bk BT". This will update the header for all pages including the FAQ popup pages.

The "logo.png" has a transparent background. A "logo.PSD" file is located in the "extras" folder. If you want to change to a "logo.jpg" image, edit the "header.js" and "header-faq.js" in 1 place each from .png to .jpg and place your "logo.jpg" in the "picts" folder.

OPTIONAL PLAIN TEXT HEADER: To use the text header option, edit the "var logotype" in the "header.js" and "header-faq.js" from "graphic" to "text". Edit the "var logo1" "Yourwebsitetitle" and "var logo2" ".com" text in the "header.js" and "header-faq.js" with your site name.

RIGHT SIDE HEADER IMAGE: To change the color of the right side header icon image edit the "var imagheader" in the "header.js". Available images are black or white (header-contact-white.png or header-contact-black.png). Also edit the "var mobcolor" to black or white.

Step 2: *Full & Mobile
EDIT COPYRIGHT: | More Details
Open the "footer-copyright.js" file in Notepad or any text editor, edit the "" text with your website or company name. This will update the footer info on all pages including the mobile website. Edit all ".js" files with a text editor.

Step 3: *Full & Mobile
Open the "phone.js" file in Notepad or any text editor and change the company name, address, phone and fax number, and e-mail address (edit the e-mail in 2 places). This will update contact info on the contact page (full and mobile). This is done as a javascript file so your e-mail will not be read by search engines and you'll receive less spam e-mail.

Step 4:

Click for current info on setting up the template forms.

Click for info on adding more fields to the forms.

Click for changing form sizes or colors.

Because of the complexity of setting up the quote form, there are notes in the "quotes.htm" to help you cut and paste to add new form fields. The form will work with most contact form scripts however you will need help files or a sample form from the script you intend to use. Most form elements work the same way from script to script, however the hidden values usually vary. You may want to consider editing the entire page in Notepad instead of a wysiwyg editor.

If you want to use only e-mail on the contact page you can remove the contact form from the "contact.htm" between the comment tags.

Step 5: *Full & Mobile
Updates images in the gallery pages in both the full and mobile sites. The best way to setup the pictures in the gallery is not to actually edit the HTML pages and change the pictures on each individual page. The fastest way is to simply replace the pictures in the "gallery" folder with your own by overwriting the files that are in there now and using the same generic names.

In the "gallery" folder, replace the 18 "Fgallery" pictures with full size photos. Replace the 18 "gallery" pictures with your thumbnails. The thumbnails are now 130 x 87 pixels and Fgallery images are 600 x 400 pixels, but you can make them any size that you prefer.

If you want to setup and use the Paypal cart pages, see "PAYPAL TYPE 2 CART SETUP" below on this page.

Edit the text under the image in the "image-viewer.htm" and the "slideshow.htm".

You can change some options for the gallery image viewer page (image-viewer.htm) by editing the pop-closeup.js in Notepad. Options include new browser window, or popup for the viewer. (Viewer code for the mobile site is inside the mobile header.js.)

Step 6:
EDIT THE FAQ PAGES: | More Details
See your FAQ page for complete instructions.

Step 7:
EDIT THE MENUS AND DROPDOWN MENUS: | Menu Editing | Adding Pages
This template includes horizontal CSS menus. You can edit the menus as you need and add and remove links and pages. You will edit the menu.js in a text editor to change the menu names and add items. Click for CSS horizontal menu help.

See "options" below for editing the other menus in this template.

Step 8:
You will edit the "sidebar.htm" like any other HTML page. Editing the "sidebar.htm" will update all the pages at one time. If you need more height in the sidebar you can edit the "sb-heightL" height style in the CSS color theme file you are using in the "colors" folder.

The scroller in the sidebar is showing 3 HTML pages that you will edit like normal web pages. Edit the 3 "scroller?.html" pages in the "scroller" folder. You can edit the "scroll.variables0.js" to change the scroller size or speed or add or remove pages to the scroller window. Do not edit the "scroll.html". Edit the "sidebar-left.js" to switch off the scroller. Height and width for the scroller are set in the "scroll.dflt.js" and "scroll.variables0.js".

Step 9:
Open the "sidebar-right.js" file in Notepad or any text editor, and edit the text and links with your own text. You will also find some options at the top of this file for switching off the sidebar text and images, Edit the width in the CSS files in the "colors" folder. Editing the "sidebar-right.js" will update all HTML pages at one time.

See "options" below for editing the "sidebar-gallery.js".

Step 10: *Full & Mobile
EDIT TWITTER FACEBOOK LINKEDIN LINKS: | Social Links | .js variable editing
Open the "social-links.js" in a text editor and edit the 3 link variables with your link to Twitter Facebook and LinkedIn. The "social-links.js" includes "yes/no" variables to turn off any or all of the social links. Variable editing help. This will update both the sidebar and footer and mobile footer social icons.

Step 11: *Full & Mobile
PDF PAGE SETUP: | More Details
In the "PDF" folder, replace the "PDFsample1.pdf" through "PDFsample6.pdf" with your PDF files. Edit the "PDFgallery.htm" with info for your PDF files (both full and mobile pages). Click link above for setup details.

Mobi Note: If you do not want to use the same generic names for the .PDF files, you will need to edit the links on both the full and mobile "PDFgallery.htm" page.

Step 12:
This template includes a Paypal payment page called "payments.htm". Edit the "" in this page with your Paypal e-mail and you can use this page to accept custom payments by sending clients a link to this page and having them fill in the amount on the payment page. To remove the form, delete the code between the notes for the Paypal form in the "payments.htm".

Step 13:
Open the "header.js" and edit the "var yourdomain" = "" with your website domain name. To turn off the site search edit the "search.js" and edit the "var showsearch" to "no". An optional advanced "OPTIONAL-header-Burgdorf-search.js" file for this template will be in your "extras" folder. See Support AWSD WebSearch for details.

Step 14:
EDIT PAGES: | Software choices | Notepad Editing
Edit the text on all HTML pages with your website information. You can use Expression Web, Frontpage, Dreamweaver, any wysiwyg HTML editor or a text editor like Notepad. Take care not to delete any of the HTML tags that surround the text. You will find notes inside each page to help you navigate. NOTE: You will not see the footer and header in some software because they are .js include files so you can globally edit your sidebars and menus.

Step 15:
Open each of the pages and change the titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords with your product or service info. You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. Page titles are important so your site will get a good listing at Google, Yahoo!, Bing and other search engines. Click for optimization help.

Step 16:
See the help-mobi.html located in the "mobile" folder.

Step 17: *Full & Mobile
UPLOAD: | More Details
Upload the pages on to your hosting company's server using ftp software or Windows Explorer or your control panel. Be sure to upload the "picts", "gallery", "scroller", "PDF" and "colors" and "mobile-select" and "mobile" folders and all files and subfolders in these folders.

MOBILE OVERLAY: | More Details
All of the full site main template pages include a mobile select overlay. You can see this select box if you make your web browser as narrow as 801 pixels. Files for the mobile select are in the "mobile-select" folder. Edit the "select-overlay.js" to change the overlay text. Edit the "select-overlay.css" to change font sizes and layout. Edit the css color theme files in the "colors" folder to edit the overlay colors.

Turn off the select overlay in the "select-overlay.js" in the "mobile-select" folder. Click link above for details.

Note: Some pages like the thanks and missing pages do not inlcude the overlay.

REMOVING THE MOBILE SITE: To remove the mobile site. Turn off the overlay as outlined above, remove the link to the mobile site in the "site_map.htm" and turn off the mobile icon in the "header.js".

HEADER COLOR: The background color for the header can be edited in your CSS color file in the "colors" folder. Edit the ".headercolor" class.

EDITING THE FOOTER "footer.htm": | More Details
You will edit the "footer.htm" like any other HTML page. Editing the "footer.htm" will update all the pages at one time. Click link above for more details.

Open the "colortheme.css" and edit 2 lines to change the color theme. One line for page colors, and one for the menu color. Available themes you can use are listed at the top of this file. For the sidebar text scroller edit the "scrollertheme.css". Click link above for details.

EXAMPLE: edit only the "blue" in the code as shown below in 2 places to another color listed in the "colortheme.css":

@import url("colors/blue.css");
@import url("colors/blue-menu.css");

To change the color of the header icon image (black or white) edit "white" in the "header.js" in 2 places For the mobile overlay edit "white" in the "select-overlay.js" in the "mobile-select" folder.

COLORS AND FONTS: | More Details
This is a chrome color theme template. All template colors and fonts will be edited in the css files in the "colors" folder. Color themes can be changed in the "colortheme.css" and "scrollertheme.css" files.

The images used for the template colors will be in the "picts" folder and then inside the appropriate color folder. EXAMPLE: All images used in the "blue" theme, if you set the "colortheme.css" to blue, will be in the "picts/blue" folder. Some .PSD color images for editing purposes only may be in the "extras" folder.

The slideshow is currently setup to display all pictures in the gallery folder. If you would like to add or remove pictures from the slideshow, open the slideshow.htm in Notepad and look for the "EDIT THIS AREA" note. Copy and paste to add new pictures to the list, or delete lines to remove pictures. You can also set the AutoPlay speed. Look for "var rotate_delay = 3000".

See the "EDIT THE MENUS AND DROPDOWN MENUS" section above.

GALLERY MENU: | Sidebar editing | Adding to .js files
The "sidebar-gallery.js" is used to show the right side gallery images with links on the gallery pages. See the notes inside this file to add more gallery links.

PRODUCTS MENU: | More Details
The "menu-products.js" is used only in the "CARTgallery?.htm" pages. See the notes inside this file to add more gallery links. See "PAYPAL SETUP" below to use the "CARTgallery?.htm" pages.

PICTURES: | More Details
You can replace the pictures with your own. The pictures are now 750 x 80 (or 30) pixels but you can use any size picture you want if you edit the html height and width code to fit them. Each page has it's own picture which is named according to the page it's on. You will find all pictures in the "picts" folder.

THE BANNER TILING: Main banner images are setup to tile. For help with tiling images and other options see Template Image is Repeating.

ADDING PAGES: | More Details
You can add pages to your website by copying and pasting any one of the pages and renaming it to whatever you need. You can then add links from the other pages or add the page link to the menu by opening the "menu.js" and copying and pasting one of the buttons below another.

The "site_map.htm" is linked from the index.html. It is best not to remove this link so search engines can find your site map and properly list all your pages when users search at major search engines.

So all your pages will maintain a standard height, page height code is included in the CSS color theme file you are using in the "colors" folder. Edit the ".pageheight" class to change the page heights. The ".sb-heightL" (sidebar frame height) class also affects page heights.

For the overall page widths edit the ".pagewrapper" class. There is also a ".content-width" class and classes for left and right whitespace.

The files in the extras folder are optional files. You can use any of these files as indicated elsewhere on this help page and related support pages. This folder does not need to be uploaded to your hosting area.

A Paypal cart has been setup in the "CARTgallery1.htm" and "FORMgallery?.htm" pages. Follow the steps below to setup the shopping cart pages. This template includes "Type 2" Paypal forms.
  1. Setup a Paypal merchant account.

  2. Delete or place the unused template "gallery?.htm" pages in the extras folder. Example, if you will only be using the "CARTgallery?.htm" pages, move the "FORMgallery?.htm", the "LISTgallery?.htm" and the "gallery?.htm" pages into your extras folder. You will probably be moving 9 pages total.

  3. In the "menu.js" remove the top level "gallery" button group. In the "Products" menu group remove the 3 "List Style Products" links. You may need to remove or rename some top level menu items. See menu editing above.

  5. In each Paypal "CARTgallery?.htm", or "FORMgallery?.htm" page edit the "10909929" in each form with your generated product number. This will be the following code:

    <input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="10909929">
